Indeed, Muslim empires had the greatest leaders of all time who quadrupled the territory's landmass within two centuries and developed Islam to become one of the major religions. However, after the golden age of Akbar's reign (c.1605), emperors have made selfish and futile decisions that stifled the possibility of global domination.

For instance, when the emperor Aurangzeb was temporarily isolated from his governing task during a war, there were casualties up to two-million citizens who deceased from famine and lack of reliable commands.

Another blunder that the leaders made was their failure to tolerate the diversity among the citizens.
Explanation/analysis
Without able to foresee the long term aftermaths, leaders such as Shah Abbas either injured or murdered their own potential sons, future successors, knowing that their dexterity could usurp the emperor's power and authority. Instead, they chose their grandsons, who were reluctant to continue the empire bestowed by the murders of their fathers', to become their successors and eventually brought to the empire's decline.

Soon, abundance of individuals displayed pitiful fidelity towards their own emperors and were hesitant to pursue their orders which led to vulnerable, unscrupulous society.

In spite of the great success Akbar brought through the liberty to choose one’s religion, his descendants fabricated unconstitutional laws that required non-Muslim believers to be treated in discriminating manner. Especially, due to the empire’s demand for their losses in wars, only the non-Muslims had to pay the taxes that resulted in conflicts contributed to the fall of the Islamic Empire.

The three Muslim Empires of the 1300-1700 time period each made significant contributions to their worlds and the rest of world history. Why did the Muslim world not come to dominate world affairs during this time period?
